This is what I was afraid of and noted in my previous post (second link). I have a feeling this “business” model is going to make a lot of people unhappy, and in the long run, is doomed.
Anyone see other reactions to HuffPo’s Chicago move?

I am also curious to see what HuffPo has to add to the Chicago media scene that Beachwood doesn’t already.
And as a reporter working for a company that just announced layoffs today, I wonder if “pro bono” writing gigs like those offered by the HuffPo will be my only opportunity should the ax cut in my direction. In that case, maybe I’ll start eating magical food that doesn’t cost any money after moving into housing that some landlord will surely offer me “pro bono.” And maybe Sallie Mae won’t mind if I start sending them Monopoly money.
